Troop Leaders are known as the main drivers of the Girl Scout Mission, but they cannot do it alone. Troop Helpers, Service Unit Team Members, Board Members and High Award Coaches are some of the Girl Scout volunteers who serve alongside Troop Leaders to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
The Support Volunteer Spotlight is reserved for volunteers who serve in a non-troop leader role who work hard to support a high-quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience OR support other Girl Scout volunteers. This could be the Encampment Director who centers girls around the planning process every year, the Troop Helper who sews on all the girls' patches, or the Gold Award Coach who instills confidence in older girls. Please note that volunteers in support positions who are also troop leaders can be nominated as long as the nomination focuses on their service in the support role.
Looking to recognize a Troop Leader? See our Troop Leader Spotlight nomination form.
Do you think they deserve an even higher recognition? Are they going above and beyond the role of their position? They may qualify for a GSUSA National Award! Check out the requirements for these awards on the "Ways to Recognize Volunteers" page on our website.
